GREAT BARRINGTON – Two hundred and fifty teens from the New England area met at the Union for Reform Judaism’s Eisner Camp here for a weekend to learn about how entrepreneurship can improve and change the world.
The Dana Gershson and Rabbi Jonah Pesner Northeast Leadership Summit was part of the Reform movement’s new, hands on approach to youth engagement in Jewish life. The weekend included workshops geared toward both critical thinking and the development of business models, and culminated in a “Shark Tank”-style program in which seven judges distributed $7,000 in funds to participants with the most compelling pitches and marketing campaigns.
